When I tell Ecuadorians that I love the area around Guaranda, they seem baffled and ask, ‘How in the world did you find Guaranda?’
I love that unique little spot in the Andes, where the red-caped quinoa-growing indians punctuate the area with their unique presence. It’s a difficult place to reach from where I live, but I always rejoice in returning when time permits.
Thanks; I look forward to all of your posts, but this past week you’ve outdone yourself! What’s next, oh great one?!!!

Lisa, I love all of these, and the school children and Big Red are especially near and dear to my heart. This is the first time I have seen a “Water Apple” outside of the market in Santa Elena, CR. They are so lovely!

Thanks! I’m lucky to have a large manzana de agua tree in my back yard! The iguanas, large and small, love to feast on the fallen fruit. I never get tired of the unique flowers, either! z

Love everything, your blog always make me smile! 🙂

Thanks, amiga! What’s your favorite color? Mine is probably the calming color of blue, yet I love to pair that with its complimentary color of orange. Red crops up a lot in the mola paintings… z
Marianne said:
I love red! 🙂 Actually I love all colors but in different situations. I’m always dressed in black, but I’m getting a bit tired of that… I’ve yellow wallpapers in two of the rooms, I love the color but I would never, ever wear yellow clothes. I used to have a red car, but now it’s grey – boring… Most of my art is very colorful, I only have persian carpets with strong vibrant colors but the colors in the bedroom are very pale and soothing. Do I make any sense? Your paintings would fit very well in my home… :).
Playamart - Zeebra Designs said:
Hey! Yes, you make sense, and I suspected that you loved red! I remember once when I wore a bright-yellow shirt, and my good friend said that it made my face look green! I never wore bright yellow again!
I’ve heard that drivers of red cars often get more tickets from policemen, so gray is an intelligent choice!!!!
Ah, the carpets sound soothing and lovely. They must feel great on the bare feet, summer or winter! Do you believe in the theory of going barefoot as often as possible to stay grounded?! We have so many great topics for posts!

Thanks amiga! Each morning I look at the red hibiscus and wonder, ‘shall i pick them now for a tea or wait til the end of the day before they drop?’ i usually wait til the end of the day!

Yummy, I don’t think I’ve ever had hibiscus tea, so I must REALLY be missing out. Yes, I have a lot of catching up to do in all the blogs I follow, since I was on vacation, so am just picking one or two a day and playing catch-up!!
Playamart - Zeebra Designs said:
