Catching up on the Alphabet Challenge, I am pleased to share many fun and easy Spanish words that begin with the letter P. While the interent is thinking faster at two in the morning, I present to you this sampler!
Plato – Plate, Pan – Bread, Platanos – Plantains
Platano – Plantain = Patacones!
Plantains are often used to make Patacones, a popular side dish in Latin America.
Perro – Dog This perro often dropped by for a visit in Costa Rica and enjoyed the cool piso!
Piso sounds a lot like Pisco, a grape brandy from Peru and Chile. Pisco pairs well with maracuya for a cool refreshing Piscorita!
Pescado – Fish
Punta – Point (As in a pencil point or a landmark along a coastline…)
Postre – Dessert
Picoflor – Hummingbird!
Now where’s that Pollo?
Pollo – Chicken, Pavo – Turkey, Pato – Duck – Sorry; the pavo and pato images must have escaped from the files!
There are many more words that start with P. Are you ready for more? How about Policia?
Policia – Police
Piso – Floor
Pintura – Paint
Hmmmm. I wonder what I could use to illustrate piso and pintura?!!!!
I’ve been painting while images uploaded; a floor update is coming soon, but for now, I will say, “Goodnight!” I hope you enjoyed the post!
