Hop on the magic carpet and enjoy some unique views of Latin America!
The lighthouse perched atop Guayaquil’s Santa Ana Hill overlooks the Malecon 2000, the Guayas River and has a sweeping view of the city.
With the waxing moon in this week’s night sky, one can always look up and bask beneath the spell of the moon!
Sometimes we get a bonus, like this halo!
One always treasures memories of watching late-night eclipses. This memorable one was shared with friends Hank and Marie Groff at their home in Costa Rica. Enjoy that post HERE.
One of my favorite Georgia O’Keefe images is The Lawrence Tree. I often think of that image when I gape up at lovely trees!
Many times I am mysteriously prompted to pause and look up. Of course I’m rewarded with what I discover!

Jose Luis in Garrobo Tree – See ‘The Highest of Arts.”
How can we not love moments when Mother Nature smiles back at us?

Who wouldn’t be enchanted by a precious monkey like this? I was looking up, and it was looking down!
Many of you might remember the Let’s Be Wild challenge of “Look Up” from earlier this year. I always enjoy that ‘look-up’ experience when I see the flowers hanging overhead like the opening image for that POST.
The internet is struggling at a snail’s pace, and hopefully this post finds its way out of preview mode! Have a great day and a great weekend, everyone!
Thanks, WordPress, for a great challenge!

Great photos! And you are posting midday! 🙂
Yes, but I started around 9! Uploading was a brutal task, but thankfully some were already in the files!

Wonderful!
A friend wrote and said that their internet in another little nearby community was down all morning. Ah-HA! THAT’S why mine was mysteriously faster! z
Lucky you and sad for them!
Awesome pics Z!
thanks! it was hard to stop adding images, but the internet finally threw on the brakes and stopped me!
Oh my!
What wonderful photographs! Every one a distinct pleasure…thank you!
Like this post very much makes me think on all the things we miss, we must look up
at times and see these beautiful things.
hey amiga!
yes, we sometimes forget to look up, and there are amazing smiles waiting for us if we take the time to do that! z
It is a dreary rainy day here in Portland, cold and windy. You photos were brought the sunshine to my mind…and a smile to my face!
Thank you so much! Unless it’s raining (you can identify with that!) the weather here is almost always near ‘perfect.’ A friend pointed out that even if it rains, it’s pleasant, and one doesn’t mind getting wet!
I’m honored that the images distracted you from a lingering winter!

So much to see…by looking up. Great collection.Living in a stilt house, I’m always looking out over or down.

Oh yes, we know about that halo round the moon! It was here the other night and it has been raining ever since !
the moon tonight is really pretty; there’s a veil of wispy clouds, but i didn’t notice a halo around the moon. i hope that you needed that rain! z
The rain is very welcome. You know all about rain in your part of the world 🙂

That monkey caught in mid flight is amazingly well caught and I love the little faces of all sorts looking down at us
the last photo and your comment made me smile, thank you Lisa!
Very up beat post, z. Nature smiling – so cute. Very shot tells a story and the climbing guys are still freaking me out!
Love the series of images. Every picture makes our spirits feel “Up” and happy. A celebration of what makes us smile with excitement. Thanks.
thanks! once i looked over my shoulder and up while quietly painting. there at the corner of the roofline was a boa; all i knew was that i saw the belly of a snake, and wow, that got my attention! the boa was in pursuit of a bat that lived in the tiny space between the metal roof and the ‘ridge cap’ that ran down the corner ridge. after recovering from the shock, i was happy to know that i had a natural pest control device in the house! only one other person thought it was a nice touch! everyone else was a bit creeped out!
