Recording the sun's shadow.

Recording the sun’s shadow. – Mar 21 & Sept 21shadows should hit the same spot!

Ecuador – Sept. 21, 2013 – Not only is the sun straight overhead at high noon on the equinox, but today is also World Peace Day. Even if you didn’t mark the sun’s placement in your part of the world, and even if you didn’t make an outward (wear white) statement for world peace, please take a moment to reflect on where we are as a collective whole.

We have the power to change the quality of our day; we have the power to change the quality of someone else’s day with just a smile; we can turn a negative experience into a positive one if we remove egos from the script. We don’t have to bark at our neighbor (or loved one) just because someone barked at us. Break the cycle. We make choices every day, and we can choose to smile just as easily as we can choose to grumble!

Although we might doubt the importance of our roles, every single one of us affects the world’s timeline. The planted seed never sees the flower, the fruit or tree; the raindrop eventually merges with the ocean; how we treat each other stretches far into the future. We may never know the true power of our kindness and patience.

Wear White!

Wear White!

Wear a splotch of white as a token of respect for every race, every mammal, bird, reptile, amphibian, insect and plant on the planet. Think of peace every time you see someone wearing white, not only today but every day as well. Light your inner candle of peace and cultivate this attitude.
