Silvana pondering her work!
“Talent is like a water table under the earth. You tap into it with your effort and it comes through you, from the bottom of the earth.” (Natalie Goldberg)
After drawing the butterfly design (see previous post) with a black permanent marker, Silvana pondered the colors for her sister’s birthday surprise. With a thick paper between the front and back of the shirt, she slowly applied the acrylics.
Watch over my shoulder and enjoy the magic!
How’s this for a happy-birthday gift?!!!!

Silvana’s sister will never guess what awaits inside!
Congratulations, Silvana! You did a GREAT job!

Silvana and her amazing t-shirt design!

How beautifully done and how well presented / gift wrapped.
Perfect gift! 🙂
That design and T-shirt turned out great!!!
An amazing gift inside and out!
Yup, it’s a winner!
Absolutely beautiful! Now who do I know who can make me one? 🙂
It’s absolutely beautiful! Well done Silvana. 🙂
Wow! That’s so beautiful. Did she have to do anything special to set the paint so it can be washed? I love the gift wrapping, too. You just gave me a great idea for a birthday gift wrap on Sunday. 🙂
Love it, and the gift wrap as well. 🙂
Oh wow! This is something unique and the gift wrap too. It looks like a lesson in not only design techniques, but patience as well…not trying to rush it.
What beautiful colours she has chosen

Oops, meant posts 😦
Very, very nice!!!
Good work, Silvana….that design is beautiful and it is 1000 times better than what you would have found in the local T-Shirt shop! Good seeing you in Mindo!
Lovely, how do I order one for my birthday?
Silvana’s got talent, and her sister is the lovely recipient of her abilities! Wonderful!
What a beautiful gift. That wrapping is gorgeous – banana leaf, right? I think I remember there are dishes that are cooked while wrapped in a banana leaf, but I can’t for the life of me remember what.
I like the quotation about talent from Goldberg, too. We talk about “tapping into talent”, but no one else I can remember has made explicit the connection to water.
I’m just north of Amarillo this morning, and I’m going to play like an old work horse and head for home. Yesterday morning, I woke at 5:30 and thought, “It’s time to go home.” I was at the corner of Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma (more about that later) and I didn’t have time to go farther west – at least, if I wanted to do the kind of exploration I like. So, we’ll save that for another trip.
you might are talking about “Bollo” I guess
Just beautiful! I hope that you are doing well! Hugs chica!
