All that you need is deep within you waiting to unfold and reveal itself. All you have to do is be still and take time to seek for what is within and you will surely find it. ~Eileen Caddy
I am writing from La Division, where I hoped to get away from smoke that’s been wafting ‘downwind’ from some sort of burn pile. The smoke seems to have followed me here! I was also hoping for a stronger internet signal. I was not planning to have many distractions, but they are here as the old battery runs down while the upload functions and pages fail to load!
Perdon for this hurried post! The quote is quite ironic for a day when I was unable to be still in order to publish this post! Two of four images loaded, and I am going to call that ‘a good day.’ The battery is now at critical —- some days it’s best to stay home and draw!

Beautiful render – I prefer old pencil to keyboard
AnnMarie 🙂
Bless your heart — it has to be hard not to be frustrated. The good news is that your drawings uploaded, and they’re such a delight. Your first one makes me think of kelp. Isn’t it amazing how one thing in nature reminds of another?
When you mentioned a burn pile the first thing I thought of were your trees that were taken out. I hope the big orange machines haven’t been at it again!
Lovely artwork as always Lisa! You inspire me! 🙂
Reblogged this on The ObamaCrat™.
Very nice!
Your trees have a spiritual presence Lisa. It must be so hard not to get frustrated with your internet connection.
Oh Lisa! I am so sorry. But, you deal well with Murphy’s Law. You have the patience of a true artist. Buenos suerte. That Ceiba tree speaks to me. I wish I would have had a way to get off the bus and visit the forest of Ceibas near Manta. They were eerie, yet playful in appearance. You’ve captured the playfulness. I wonder if smoke signals would have been a good title for this post?
Hope things are more settled at home; that you can be still for awhile.
You ‘ve captured the ancient spirit of this beauty. Been in Canoa celebrating birthday and anniversary. Pre sketching two canvases and will start the paintings when we return to SC. Staying with the influences of the Molas. Stay well dear friend
Love the sketch and yes, some days it is best to stay home and draw! Be well – ^..^
Z, great quote. Great advice. Have a grand weekend. BTG
“Some days it’s best to stay home and draw!” Yes, and then you can draw on your inner resources.
The Caddy quote is fabulous. Good stuff, amiga. 🙂
Blogging can be a real challenge to staying calm and unruffled.
You have the right idea go with the flow.
Draw some more trees like these beauties.
They are a pleasure to see.
Hello amiga! this is so beautiful
I got me a new modem
my internet was not working either
hope you are doing good
I so love trees also. I used to carve wood – not well but my trees always took on a life of their own. I love this.
The “presence” of the tree trunk is awesome Lisa as you bring it strength and age with your experienced hands. Beautiful work here – I agree that you should go back home and enjoy the view for inspiration in drawing and painting a scene that only you can do. Hope you have a beautiful weekend.
