“When I have an idea, I turn down the flame, as if it were a little alcohol stove, as low as it will go. Then it explodes and that is my idea.” Ernest Hemingway
(Why didn’t I do this years ago?) Th colorized version replaces the generic silver design of the mini-laptop! With a little leftover paint, I also brightened the facade of my silver-colored camera!
Now if I can figure out a way to improve the internet signal strength! John and Mary McDonald recommended that I upgrade from gerbil power to hamster. The hamsters, I’ve found, are a bit lazy and would rather eat than run that wheel round and round. With gerbil power, only this image uploaded. Its been a busy week! Part two should arrive tomorrow!
(Now it’s time to prompt those little gerbils into another power-up marathon!)

You should sell these as laptop skins. I’d buy one. 🙂
Thanks, Bob! I’ll look into that as soon as faster internet has put the gerbils into retirement! Z
Bob has a great idea !!
thanks! it didn’t take long to paint – it was one of those ‘everything clicked’ kind of paintings… it keeps fooling me, and i wonder what painting that is that’s so colorful!
Steam! Now that’s the way to go… Best of luck with the hamsters. Love the design! Tony
Thanks for this magnifical idea and realization! I’d like to have the same!
thank you so much! it was fun to paint and wasn’t that hard or time consuming.
I love the artwork on the computer Sis!
i am so glad that you approve! thanks!
hmmm, you could also try cuy, they’ll keep running son they don’t end up being dinner 🙂
ha.. that made me laugh, and you are right! they’ll run and run and run and will surely out perform the others!
Internet may be slow, but you will be “stylin'” while you wait. Nicely done.
thank you! it’s fun to paint and watch the birds from the upstairs perch, but the birds keep trumping the art. it’s quite addictive – watching the thousands of birds…
Love it! Can’t wait 😶
thanks amiga.. how is life in the ‘southern sierra?’
Oh no! You can’t abandon your gerbils! They’ve been so loyal for so long — and so slow!
ja! ; you are right, but they’re threatening to gnaw the power lines if i don’t give them a holiday break — or else i am to feed them double during the holidays – they prefer chocolate-covered almonds, which get quite expensive!
happy holidays, dear friend!

Any way you could harness the power of the waves and tides? All that water ought to be good for something!
oh you are SO RIGHT! my mind keeps drawing imaginary scribble cartoons of all of the ways to power the modem!
thanks for this suggestion! z
Oh this is so funny, Lisa. Leave it up to you to paint your laptop while you’re waiting for a faster internet. It’s so creative. I love it.
it keeps fooling me.. i see the bright design and do a double take while that little glitch/delay waits until i remember, ‘oh yes.. that’s my laptop!’ it’s a tiny bit of 3-dimensional effect…
I’d be afraid to paint my computer or camera! Glad it works for you.
You and your art have inspired me, though. I am hiring a friend who actually knows how to paint to add a little scene to a small ramp I have between rooms. Have to finish the ramp (6 feet long, 18″ wide). Then get a brilliant design idea. Or maybe she will have one. I need ART in my HOUSE!
I am currently in Mexico at the end of the end of an internet system. It is even worse than what I have at home, but at least it works spottily.
you can surely transform your living space there in mexico! start with some colorful beach fabrics and use them for tablecloths, cut them into napkins, let the designs inspire you to echo them elsewhere.
you can surely draw a fun iguana with big roun d toe pads and diamond designs running down its back – then paint in bright colors and finally finish up details with dark blue/purple mixed with black.. the black covers the mistakes and cleans the lines….
i look forward to an update!!!!
So generous of the internet gods to give you your creative time! Happy Holidays..
Just love that colourful design, the original black is so boring, the new look would bring a smile to my face every time I looked at it.
