My dear friends; as I stated, I am usually unable to reply to comments but can email. Many friends have emailed, and I promised, most all want to do the same thing – come get me. I mentioned in the post that I had emailed Xavier and told him to stay away, but I didn’t add that I told him to keep it quiet or half of Jama would be coming to my rescue. Sometimes the quiet and serenity of one’s own home and bed is the best medicine. There are others on standby, and they know if I start feeling more serious complications, I will let them know. As the saying goes, I might be crazy but I’m not stupid!
I am very comfortable and am feeling pretty good considering that I have dengue. This case is much easier than the first. My temp is much lower, my pulse, which was up a bit one day, is now back to its 50 or so beats per minute.
Believe me, from year to year I keep up with dengue stats and the warnings. I wrote this so that others could understand what it’s like to have dengue. Don’t make me regret that I wrote this post! I am touched by your comments… I’d best publish this before the marines show up on my doorstep!
I love you all!
Z
okay, you win this round, and you’re right, but not marines, the FBI. we love you
Thanks for the update. Still wish I were there, slathered with repellant!
I know how you feel, I contracted Dengue just before Christmas and it was about a month before I felt somewhat like myself again. The first week I just wanted to sleep, and the first four days I had difficulty even drinking anything. They are the most difficult to get through, when the pain is the worst. After that I was quite content to stay in bed save for trips to the bathroom and instructions to my spouse on how to make chicken soup, the only thing I felt remotely like eating after the worst of it. I think chicken soup and Gatorade probably saved my life. 🙂
Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s nice to know that a second occurrence is not always worse like I’ve been told. Hope you feel better soon.
It’s good to see that flash of humor (“I may be crazy, but I’m not stupid”). In a way, the fact that you’ve had it before makes me more comfortable with the fact that you’re choosing to stay in place. You know the enemy, so to speak. Just don’t allow that enemy to sneak around your defenses and mount a surprise attack. If anything doesn’t seem right or expected, let someone know!
What a relief! So glad to hear your temp is down. Take it easy, so we won’t have to call in the marines. Love you!
Okay my friend I missed a post and I see I’m going to have to go back to see what has happened. Dengue, are you serious?! Okay Lisa if I could I’d have left without my bags and would have been at your door step to take care of you – I am so sorry to read that you’ve come down with this and for a second time, it’s very scary. I hope and from the sounds of it the worst my be over and now your body needs to fully recover. Wow, what a shock! Going over to read your earlier post. Take care ~
With you, amiga. Hugging you close and warm. Darn it, Z, you’d better get well soon, or else…..
Hi My friend!!I figured when I read your post this morning that your solitude, which I knew you wanted/needed would be broken by many of your friends offering their kindness in either coming to Casa Loca to help or telling you they would come get you!! So I will be keeping you in my prayers for an easy recovery!! And you will just know that I love you and you are in my thoughts and prayers throughout the days till I know you have recovered! I do remember when you were so sick in CR and I wasn’t anywhere close by. I, of course felt bad later when you recounted your ordeal up on the mountain at Paul’s place….this time tho, it’s nice to know you have so many friends around your area that if things got really bad you know who to ask for help from…..and of course having internet helps me feel better too….knowing you can still type and get your messages out. So my friend….don’t feel the need to email back if you are not feeling well enough!Love Hugs and many Prayers for you “Dear Lisa aka Zeebra!!””BB aka Hummingbird”
