Yachana Lodge, Rio Napo, Eastern Ecuador
“What are you all looking at?” Douglas, the owner of Yachana Lodge asked Xiomara and me.
I smiled and replied, “Atmosphere.”
The scene before us was changing with each second, and we were trying to capture what we saw with our cameras!
It’s time for dinner, but I wanted to send a smoke signal and let everyone know that it’s lovely here!

From my room – 6 a.m.

6 a.m from the balcony…
More soon!

Oropendulas popped in to say, “Good morning, breakfast is ready!”
I love that misty look, and the way layers get paler and paler as they recede. We see Mt. Rainier here, when the clouds go away. Every time you see her, she looks different. Today was mysterious, with a gray sky behind and a thin, horizontal, scalloped strip of clouds part-way down from the top, everything softly blending together with the gathering of the next rains, forecast for tomorrow.
Yes, the quickly-changing scene has many moods. Last night I worked on photos taken durinig the sunny hours, and the same scene had a totally-different mood.
You probably have images taken fro the same ‘spot’ of your own lovely view, and each one is totally different as well. The description of the view from your gps point is pooetic and soothing! I hope that the rains are being gentle and warm!
The 6 A.m. Shot is so lovely it almost makes you want to get up that early.
So ethereal — almost looks like a painting. Thank you — so quiet, serene.
Wow, what a magical scenery! I hear you when you try to catch all those special moments.
Happy Easter! Have a wonderful time 🙂 🙂
Such a beautiful atmosphere. 🙂
Beautiful. And you would notice. I wonder how many have looked at the same scenes and simply not seen them?
Lovely for sure!
Beautiful view! 😀
Looks like fabulous solitude. My favourite sort of place, wild and isolated!
Atmosphere is not always easy to capture with a camera. You’ve done it, though. These are lovely.
You capture beauty like none other through your lens Lisa!
Fog, mist, low cloud — all those forms of “atmosphere’ always are more interesting when they can be played off against mountains, hills, or something else that adds interest. You’ve done a lovely job of it here. The first two photos especially appealed to me.
Amazing, what a mystical landscape! I hear you when you attempt to catch each one of those unique moments….
