While taking photos of the ‘Good Friday’ crowd, I often loitered a bit too long in places and worried that I’d lose sight of my group. During one of those ‘catch-up’ moments, I noted several policemen critiquing a military robot that switched positions every few minutes. Trying to catch up with the group yet also take a photo of the men and the robot, I didn’t pay much attention to the robot. Until I focused on its face and realized it was a real person.
I think I gasped and then laughed; I then asked permission to take a few close-up photos.
The encounter will forever burn in my memory!

That made me laugh. I’m trying to decide whether to make a trip I’d planned for the middle of the Jade Helm timeline, into the middle of the Jade Helm territory. Of course, anyone who thinks all those military can hide out in the middle of small, tightly knit communities is in for a surprise. It ought to be interesting.

I am constantly amazed by street performers around the world these days. Amsterdam has a great variety of robots, and outside the Ufizi Gallery there’s a white ‘statue’ of some ancient philosopher, but my favourite of all has to be Edward Scissorhands in Mexico City – the look and the movement was captured perfectly.

I remembered seeing some of these “living statues” in London a few years ago. If you do a google search using the term, there are some fantastic images. There’s no question it’s hard to pull off. I think I like your fellow better than some of the more artistic ones, though. He’s got a great smile, for one thing! I’d find it so hard not to interact with the people who were around me!
