Hurriedly I share these images of sunshine and shadows from El Matal (Manabi) Ecuador. The tides are reaching their highest for the month, and we’ll be watching closely for the next two days.
So far so good, but today we feared one boater might grind into the rocks.
I’ve been a little ‘under the weather,’ but am much better as I take a Timeout for Lisa at my friends’ home here at El Matal.
More soon… Z
Time Out for Lisa is an excellent idea. 🙂
Si; the body will make one throw on the brakes, and i am much better.. thanks! i hope the weather over there is kind to all of you.. am watching closely thanks to my friends’ internet….
We had a little rain last night which was most welcome. 🙂
I am so happy to hear that you are resting, even if your eyes are not! The photos are wonderful and they show how mother nature can be so beautiful and scary at the same time. Please take care of yourself.
hey amiga, and thanks.. yes, i am much better 0 last night the allergy ‘drip drip drip’ was clear, and today i continue to mend..
how’s playa san miguel doing w/the spring tides? i wish i could be there to peer out w/the wave watchers there…
Good to have some rest, particularly since the weather is not cooperating… Look pretty dramatic for that boat trying to land on the beach!
yes, those guys finally coaxed the boat away from the rocks and motored back offfshore and waited with others. those rocks now make it very difficult – there are only a few areas where they can land at high tide.
Get well. We need your voice to be heard!
you are so kind, hugh; thanks so much. i don’t think i could handle the exreme winters that many of you now face. i’m lucky to be able to mend in the warm air and sunshine…i’m much better, thank you!
Z, good luck with the encroaching tides. I hope you feel better. BTG
si;; i’m much better – thank you so much.. how’s weather up there in carolina?
Not like Boston, but cold with some sleet and snow. I think I have those allergy attacks as well, even though I am an old gray pack horse.
Again, L, Hugh is right….we need your voice to be heard! Please take care…you have well-wishers from around the globe who care for you. I think I’m just one of many of those “carers”, but sincerely hope you feel better soon. R.
a, my soul sister! thank you, and your presence is always treasured as well. i am mending, thanks so much!
Add my name to the growing list of those who want you to get better and take care. Take it from someone who just got over a bad run of the cold and flu, take it easy and allow yourself to heal before it really catches on. ‘Time out for Liza!!”
thanks so much; one thing about being unwell is that we rejoice when we’re well again. i didn’t have any type of bug that kicks like the flu, so you have my deepest sympathies.. glad you’re better as well! z
⚠️Time to slow down and rest. Glad to see the boat made it back off the beach.🚣
yes, the boat did make it back out, where it waited w/others. those waves , as you know, are often hard to judge. i wouldn’t want to be dodging rocks every time i brought y boat home at high tide..
Hope you’re feeling better soon.
thanks amiga. i’m better – just an allergic-type pattern that vanished for a dozen or so years, and now it’s creeping back. the ole gray mare has found she ain’t a filly anymore!
Crap! It helps if you at least know what triggers the reaction. Take care.
Someone needs to teach Mother Nature the value of moderation in all things.
you are so right! those suffering with winter storms will agree, as well those who are bracing for the cyclones in australia..
Hope you feel better Lisa – timeout is a good thing. Your good friends are such welcoming hosts – I hope their house and pool survive the onslaught of the sea. Awesome photographs showing power and energy.
thanks; today’s high tide was very calm, and we hope that mother ocean continues to use her best manners. i’m feeling better as well.
Good to hear from you, our friend. Hope you are feeling better now. You are right. It is good to be able to rest and heal here where the nights are cool and the days are warm. Love to you!
thanks.. i’m feeling better, and the ocean was very calm today at high tide.. two more days of high tides, and hopefully they’ll be equally nice.
i see a notice of a new post.. will be back soon to catch up! z
Feel better son, and hope those tides do no more damage to this sweet place.
thank you emilie! yes, we’re all hopeful that mother ocean will continue to be nice. we’re getting very little rain which is quite unusual.. we keep waiting for the shoe to drop, we don’t want torrential rains, but we need much much more rain to restore the aquifers.
Hope you are refreshing and feeling better. Timeout is a great idea, I think one is in order here too. The middle of the world – a nice way to put it.
you must be having reverse culture shock — or climate shock… hope all’s ok there and you were able to do the bird count.. you should also contribute some of your stunning photos to the bird count photo contest….
if you need the link, let me know…
z
I have birds on my other blog, and did not do the count this year. They have me listed in Niagara Falls, Canada. I tried fixing it but it still keeps coming up in Ontario. Oh well….
yes, i have trouble with the location part as well. it provides a drop-down/auto insert option, and i select jama, then it says i must select from the drop down and clears what i typed. it would not accept ‘el matal’ where the final count was made.. they definitely need to tweak that part of the form.
Be well, Lisa!
I hope that you are feeling better Z! 🙂
Mother Nature can be so scary pleased your friends managed to save their boat. Take care of yourself Lisa and get well soon.
Awww. Feel better, Lisa and watch the advancing tides closely.
