Journey with me to Nicaragua for WordPress’s Weekly Photo Challenge of GREEN. The following images were taken on a drive from the Managua airport to the petite area of Limon, where I stayed at Casa Rosada for one month in November of 2010. The landscape, lush green from a lengthy rainy season, provided numerous photo ops along the way.
Enjoy the images, which helps illustrate that Latin America is not as dangerous as many are led to believe!

Thanks! It was such a great moment! I jumped out of the truck, smiled and asked permission to take his photo.. He just smiled and remained relaxed as if he had been posing his entire life! Z

More than the greens, which are lovely, these photos are interesting because of the human interest feature in them.

so very true; there’s danger in every country, especially the cities.. one just has to be smart when traveling in unfamiliar areas.

Oh yes, Ecuador’s rainy season is near; I intend to buy a pair of mud boots like the fishermen wear. What color do you think I should chose? White? Black? Yellow? One of each?
The muni’s dozer pushed away all of the lastre (sp?) before they did that river-rock work and now there will be a muddy mess once the rains begin. Place you bets, do you think it will get replaced in this lifetime?!!!!

ah, tap into nostalgic memories of our family root, and sweet feelings engulf us and transport us back in time.
when i smell just-turned soil after the first rain, i am again back in the missisippi delta of my childhood!
